Knowsley Health and Wellbeing Board meets meet regularly to decide on shared priorities and action to promote the health and wellbeing of people who live, work or are registered with GPs in Knowsley.

Independent Chair

Steve Coffey

Steve Coffey

Steve Coffey is the Independent Chair of Knowsley Health and Wellbeing Board, and he is also the Chief Executive of Liverpool Mutual Homes. Steve has worked predominantly in areas of deprivation and has an affinity for Knowsley from his time spent working for Knowsley Housing Trust and being a former member of the North Huyton NDC Board.

Steve’s personal objective is to make a significant contribution towards addressing the cause of deprivation and social problems by helping to establish thriving communities.

Dr Andrew Pryce

Dr Pryce is the chair of the Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Board. He is also a senior partner in a busy four partner GP practice in an area of mixed demographics, including some of the most deprived areas in the borough. Andy was formerly chair of the Central and South Practice Based Commissioning group for a period of two years.

Cllr Donnelly sits on the Health and Wellbeing Board as Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, Knowsley MBC

Mary Spreadbury

Mary Spreadbury

Mary Spreadbury is the Chair and Director for Healthwatch Knowsley.  Mary represents Healthwatch through a statutory seat on the Health & Wellbeing Board and provides user and public representation on the Board.  Her role helps to build up a local picture of community needs, aspirations and assets and the experience of people who use services.

Mary is resident of Knowsley and has spent her life working towards improving conditions for workers and disadvantaged groups.

Anthony Leo was appointed as Director of Commissioning for NHS England (Merseyside) in October 2012.  Prior to that, he held the post of Programme Director – Supporting CCG and NHS England transition.

Throughout his career he has worked in finance and management in both the private and public sectors.

Matthew Ashton

Matthew Ashton

Matthew Ashton is the Assistant Executive Director (Public Health and Wellbeing) for Knowsley MBC, with responsibilities for Public Health, Culture, Libraries and Environmental Health.

Matthew has worked in Knowsley since 2005, having previously been Deputy Director of Public Health, and held positions at the North West Public Health Observatory / Centre for Public Health, Liverpool John Moores University, and at Health Protection Agency North West.
